Holy cow! Don't be jealous. I just borrowed this from my Dad. He said it's worth the cost ten times over just for James Brown's performance. It's taunting me because I don't have the time to watch it until this weekend. I'm really excited. Look at that lineup!

P.S. Chuck Berry is still alive and he's headlining one of the nights of the Chesapeake Blues fest this year!

UPDATE: This is Chuck Berry now, and I don't know about you, but I think I like this is fucking awesome. I wasn't sure about seeing him, since it's so often disappointing to see people like that now, but I'm going the complete opposite direction here, this is really cool. How is possibly moving around that fast and playing guitar at this age?

holy shit

i've been loving the new season of lost big time. i don't know about any of you, but i was a little nervous that the final season wouldn't be that awesome. oh man was i wrong. tuesday's episode was so fucking good. i've never really had an opinion about richard and he went right up to being one of my favorite characters. that was definitely one of the best back stories ever. i also don't think they've ever explained so much in one episode before. i'm so pumped. everyone thinks this season is awesome, right?

We are off to Austin, but for those around tonight, Zach is opening for Viking Moses at Berwyn House at 7:30. Don't be square!

The problem is that we'd probably have to get there early to get in. But I really really want to see Roky Erickson. And if I happen to see Wye Oak, Andrew WK, Local Natives, and Jason Collett (Broken Social Scene) while I wait, so be it.

So I strongly recommend that everyone sucks it up and spends the money to go see Ladysmith Black Mambazo sometime. It was pretty incredible. It makes other live music seem totally stupid. Of course I don't mean that, but I was definitely thinking while watching them. It's all very moving and they are hilarious at the same time. Plus, the main man, Joseph Shabalala, seems like he's getting ready to pass the torch onto his sons, so if you want to go see them with the founder and leader, now's the time.

March fourth is always an easy birthday to remember because it sounds like a command. Today would have been Buddy's. I miss this motherfucker so much. I can't let his birthday pass without bringing up the fact that Buddy was one of greatest. There are few people as kind and wonderful as he was.
